Welcome to Alaska!
I'd rather ride a bike than a dog sled...
A nice view of Exit Glacier.
Well, I can check off the 50th and 49th states to join America. After 288 miles in Alaska, I can say with confidence that this is one of the most beautiful states in the USA.
Tommy and I headed out from Anchorage to Seward, a small fishing village 120 miles south of Anchorage. Along the way we saw some amazing sights: waterfalls, mountains, rivers, bays, and a lot of snow. We were blessed by great weather, it was in the 50's to 60's and dry. In Seward we had lunch at a great waterfront restaurant called Ray's and enjoyed fresh Alaskan King Crab. After lunch and a walk along the waterfront, we took a side trip to Exit Glacier. This is one of the few places in the world you can drive up close to a glacier and walk out on it. Overall, a great day and the fact that I got to share it with my son made it even more special.
Sure seems a bit of a climate change! And what kind of bikes are you on!!!
